This is not oak but Particle board covered with an Oak coating (paper/plastic). The holes are not predrilled and the boards are barely thick enough for the screws. If you don't drive the screws in straight it will crack and break the oak coating on the other side. Once put together it looks cheap and is very wobbly. Your better off finding a real wodden one or building your own. All I can say is that I am glad I did not buy this thing because it was a gift.
